A brief overview of ACC's work at CBOs

Amitofo Care Centre (ACC) currently assists 9 Community Based Organizations (CBOs) within Blantyre and Chiradzulu districts in Malawi.  In these CBOs ACC distributes maize, beans, soya beans, salt, cooking oil and other essential items for the needy children who don’t have sufficient food to eat and clothes to wear.

In total, ACC supports over 1300 orphaned and vulnerable children in these 9 CBOs who unfortunately have no chance to come and stay with us at our Campus village. Furthermore, ACC also helped to build Namaka CBO with funds from well-wishers. Currently three CBOs have submitted their proposals requesting ACC to build school blocks so that children in those areas can learn in good shelter.

Key challenges

ACC as a charity and a non-profit organization actually faces a lot of challenges in raising funds from well-wishers within and outside Malawi. As such it will be of great difficulty to build schools for the CBOs since a high school project is already under construction at ACC which will put further constraint on our tight budget. It is ACC management's hope that, as you take part in reading this page, you will continue to support ACC and provide financial assistance to the centre's work at these CBOs, particularly on the proposed development of schools in those areas.

Since poverty is becoming a real issue for Malawi, we have observed an increase in the number of children who rely on these CBOs. For your information, below is a summary of how food items are distributed on the 15th of every month.

Please do not hesitate in contacting us if you would like to support these projects. Thank you for your compassion and kindness.
